1. Preparation
- Warm the oil: Run your engine for 3-5 minutes to warm the oil, as it flows much better when warm.
- Safety: Park your vehicle on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and allow the engine to cool down slightly to prevent burns.
2. Option A: Oil Extraction (Via Dipstick Tube)
- Raise the car (optional) to a comfortable working height using a lift or jack stands.
- Remove the oil filler cap and the vehicle's dipstick. [
- Select the correct size extraction pipe from the five provided with your TOR 218. Insert the pipe into the dipstick tube until you feel it hit the bottom of the oil pan.
- Connect the TOR 218 to your shop air supply and set the vacuum control. Open the extraction valve to pull the waste oil directly from the engine into the tempered glass measuring cup.
3. Option B: Gravity Drainage (From Below)
- Raise the vehicle and securely place it on jack stands.
- Position the large 10L adjustable catch pan of the TOR 218 directly beneath the engine's oil drain plug.
- Loosen and remove the drain plug, allowing the oil to drain safely into the unit's catch pan.
4. Filter Replacement
- Locate the oil filter on your engine.
- Use an appropriate filter wrench to unscrew and remove the old filter.
- Rub a small amount of clean engine oil onto the rubber seal of the new filter.
- Install the new oil filter and tighten it (usually 3/4 to one turn past hand-tight; check your vehicle's specific manual). [
5. Refill & Reset
- Reinstall the oil drain plug or remove the extraction pipe, making sure to tighten the drain plug to the manufacturer's specified torque.
- Pour the recommended amount and viscosity of fresh engine oil into the oil filler hole.
- Check the dipstick to ensure the oil level is correct.
- Start the engine and let it idle for a minute, checking underneath for any leaks, then double-check the dipstick and top off if necessary.
